This page should give visitors an idea of how many machines are or have been lying around in this flat |
This machine was our original network server, running constantly from 1997 to 2007 on Debian GNU/Linux, with a couple of minor interruptions for hard-drive implosions. |
Another outward-facing server; its dual-Xeon CPUs and SCSI hard disks made it a valuable (if loud) addition to the network until its recent failure. |
Our new (that is, manufactured in 2000) inward-facing server; it has finally taken over from Xibalba as the public login host in the kitchen. |
Justin's 500 MHz desktop machine (further details available). |
This is Nik's current machine, with a 1400 MHz CPU. |
Thanks to a recent major upgrade, Eden's machine now boasts a 2.4 GHz CPU. |
Arrived on the network with Dragal; technical specs are not yet available. |
Tef's PC, which had constant fan problems through 2004-5. |
This was JJM's desktop machine, and left with him in 2000. |
Ed had to move out, along with his computer, in 1999. |
This was Graham's, and went south with him in 1997. |
John's machine was inherited by Nik but finally pegged out in 2004. |
The machine of this name on JJM's network started its life here (as his "spare"), and much of its hardware never escaped. |
Pressed into service as the current outward-facing server. |
The flat also houses Justin's laptop, though as a 386 antique it isn't on the network. |
See the Xibalba Mayan Pantheon page for explanations of these names. |
